Safety

Before learning, before everything else we do, your child's safety and well being is our primary concern. From classroom exits, to parental pick-up, washroom breaks, and the size of snacks served, it is our job to keep children safe from any harm. We take this responsibility very seriously.

Each day parents or guardians must sign the student “in and out". The child will be released only to those persons listed on the contact form. If someone other than the regular driver will be picking up the child, parents must leave a hand written note instructing our staff accordingly. This is for your child’s safety. If you do not leave a note, we will contact you to confirm the identity of the person picking up ther child. If we cannot contact the parent, the child will remain at school until such time as we are able to speak to a parent or family member. If someone other than those persons mentioned on the contact form will be picking up your child, you will need to provide us with advance written permission. No telephone requests will be entertained in this regard. Please have the person carry some form of personal ID for reference. Please make every effort to ensure we know who may and may not pick up your child from school.

Webcams

Parents may access our two webcams using a password. These webcams are for use only by staff and families of students at Montessori & Me. For security, our password changes frequently and parents are notified of this change via email.

Health & Wellness

We have a very firm “sick child policy”. If a child is not feeling well, parents are asked to keep the child home until the condition has improved. Children are not to be brought to school if they have a fever over 98.6F or 37 C, a contagious rash, bad cough, any discharge of discoloured or profuse mucus from the nose or eye, diarrhea, sore throat, or if the child is vomiting.

If a child becomes ill during class, the school will contact the parent with the expectation that they will immediately come and pick up the child.
